So much stuff has been going on. I'm very delinquent on both my journals. This might be more appropriate for my other journal, but I already posted there complaining about Word 2007, so now this journal gets some attention.
Things are getting busy for me. Really busy. I had an opportunity to work with Talisman Studios (
aaronace's company). While there's an appeal freelancing in the RPG market again, I really need to stay focused on my own work. Also, with things about to get wicked busy at work, I like the freedom of delaying my own work to focus on corporate responsibilities. I wouldn't do that on a freelance gig and they have a month and a half to get this wrapped up. Maybe sometime in the future. I like getting paid for my work. :)
I presented Act 2 to the writers group today and they took to it okay. Not a lot of comments. There was a bit of tension between me and the group leader over his story, so I don't think he was much in the mood to give me comments. He claims to be an ex-Marine, but his knowledge and his writing lead me to believe otherwise. Still, I don't want to get into that. I have an ending in mind, so I'm excited to get this thing squared away. I'll post the whole thing here when it's finished. You can take a look.
Wednesday was an event called Taste of Nashua. A bunch of restaurants from the downtown area had offerings in local downtown businesses (so Michael Timothy's had food at a local furniture store). I had some really good food. We went to one of the restaurants (Margarita's) later to try and get more of their shrimp. It wasn't as good and their prices were kind of high. Regardless, the event itself was fantastic. I'd recommend you all go next year.
Today was the Amherst Farmer's Market (the one we couldn't find last week). It wasn't nearly as big as I was expecting, but everything was New Hampshire made, so rock on there. I picked up some cage-free eggs. The sign said you could taste the difference, so we'll see. I also got some strawberries, and a support NH forests coffee mug. Support New Hampshire forests.
I'm watching the CSI: Miami episode that spun off CSI: NY. I'm also fiddling with Photoshop to see if I can make an adequate map of the Great Hioupe Plateau. I want to map out the entire Menagerie (stone sculptures the size of buttes created by the dwarves during the First World).
Lastly, work related, I finally got some feedback from one of the Publishers and her feedback was very good. I need to revise the Multimedia 101 document in a major way and it has to be done yesterday. Once it's done, I begin flying around the country training people how to handle media projects: New York, San Diego, maybe Philly/St. Louis (but unlikely). If I'm really lucky, I may end up in London and Amsterdam as well. We'll see.
So, what are you up to?
EDIT: Also, while at Taste of Nashua, we bought a diffuser. If you like scents in your household but worry that you might burn the joint down with all those candles, you need to pick one of these up. It's a porcelain jar with reeds in it. You put scented oil in the jar with the reeds, the oil diffuses into the reeds, and as it moves up the reed, the odor disperses into your room. When the odor subsides, flip the reeds and begin again. We got "Shell Walk" and it smells fantastic.
