Write Club

Me
Much like Fight Club, the first two rules of writing are the same. When you have an idea, write it down. I'm horrible at this. I have ideas all the time, and I never write them down (it all stems from a time when I was a teenager, got out of bed, wrote the idea down, and then couldn't fall back asleep). As I posted in this journal recently, I thought of an ending to a story that had been resting in the back of my head for awhile. It was a very good ending and I was excited about writing the story. Did I write it down? No.

Can I remember the ending?

No.

Gone, almost completely. I have a sliver of a thought hiding behind a fold in my brain. I can see it peaking out, pointing at me and laughing. If I catch it, perhaps I'll catch its friends too and the idea will return to me. At the moment, it remains illusive. I'm certain it involved someone dying. My stories always do, but beyond that, I got nothing.

Puup.

On a more positive note, I have today off, which means that I am writing for me rather than for work. As such, I have finished Act 2 of my short story. I chopped a lot, but there's still a lot there. I'm on the fence as to its quality. It's a necessary scene, but I still have misgivings. It's posted below. Your comments would be appreciated.

Lastly, Talisman Studios had an open call for writers, and I answered. I'm fairly certain I could do a good job, but question whether I want to hop back onto the RPG train so shortly after hopping off. The money would be nice. I could pay for my new tattoos without having to wait as long as I had planned. Any thoughts?

As promised, Act 2 of Black Magic and Barbecue Sauce )
