Okay, I need a little help from those of you who know French (and I'm not talking about just going to Google Language or Babelfish, but someone who actually understands French context):

If I were referring to a black person (in a non-derogatory fashion), what word would I use? Would it just be "noir" or is there a more appropriate word?

Is "eye patch" a literal translation (pièce rapportée d'oeil) or does it have a different name?
